ABOUT OUR DIRECTOR
Mary Whelan Fox School of Elocution, Speech and Drama opened in April 2006 due to a fast-growing demand from adults and parents for quality teaching and coaching in voice and elocution.
Active participation is what we strive for in our Speech and Drama classes and coaching sessions. From the moment they arrive, students of all ages are taught to explore, think, sense and experience through the medium of creative drama. Through our classes and coaching, we hope to create an environment where the individual child or adult grows and evolves through participation, working together as a team, listening, children learn by “doing,” being involved.

Mary has given my children confidence in their ability of speech along with the skills of articulation, improvisation and communication. It has definitely helped my daughter to stand up for herself in what she believes in, it has certainly raised her confidence and she is not afraid of speaking in public.
It helps with managing nerves and helped her with being more creative , it landed her with a role in RTE All Ireland Drama festival, she became the face of Junk Kouture and received many awards with Leinster School of Drama including an Excellence Award nomination, this is all thanks ot Mary. All this has resulted in her developing a love for languages and to have a broad vocabulary which helps to articulate her thoughts clearly and with ease.

Mary is simply the best at what she does, and I cannot praise her highly enough. She manages to make her classes fun, but they are learning and progressing all the time. Hard work and effort is required for exams and Feis, but it really does pay dividends, and the children can see that themselves. They respect her enormously too. In particular, she worked her magic on one of my household, who did not want to do primary school plays. He has developed a love for all things drama, taking to any stage with ease and confidence. Without a doubt what Mary teaches is a life skill. To see their confidence blossom is what it is all about. Thank you Mary!

Mary is absolutely amazing at what she does. I started at the tender age of 6 , I completed all my grades to Grade 10 Leinster School of Music and Drama exams with Her! Not only did she provide knowledge and guidance in both drama and tutoring, she provided a fun environment to learn. Mary is an inspiration to all her students. My 13 year old daughter has been attending Mary's classes for over 6 years and they have helped build her confidence. Mary works so hard and encourages all her students to achieve their full potential. She incorporates fun and games into her teaching programme which is great too. The Halloween recitals have been particularly memorable and entertaining. Mary is most approachable and always available to discuss any parents concerns.
