Alison Kenny Coyne Associate Diploma 5 star review
I had the pleasure of studying under Mary for my Associate Diploma in Speech and Drama, which I completed in connection to Griffith College. The experience was incredibly positive and rewarding from start to finish. As a primary school teacher, I found that the blended learning structure, which combined both online and in-person sessions, was extremely convenient. It allowed me to balance my professional commitments while still engaging fully with the curriculum.
Mary was an exceptional teacher throughout the duration of the associate. She has a unique ability to bring out the best in her students, whether in developing new skills or encouraging creativity and confidence. Her support and guidance were invaluable, especially during the practical elements of the course, where her feedback was always constructive and inspiring.
What stood out the most was Mary’s dedication to ensuring all of our success. She took the time to tailor her teaching to suit our needs and was always approachable, whether for advice, clarification, additional help, or a chat! Thanks to her, I have now achieved my associate diploma in speech and drama. I definitely feel more equipped in my teaching career and confident in applying my new skills in both the classroom and beyond.
I highly recommend Mary as a teacher for anyone looking to deepen their knowledge and abilities in speech and drama.

I began my Diploma journey with Mary last September. The help, support, and encouragement I got from Mary was second to none. Mary’s knowledge of the content and skills, as well as her amazing practical experience and teaching style, made my experience so enjoyable.
Mary will challenge you to get the best out of you, yet she manages to do this in a very comfortable way. I cannot recommend Mary enough. I look forward to bringing this qualification to my secondary school students.
Ruth Craig Associate Diploma 5 star review
I just completed the Associate Diploma in Speech and Drama with Mary. I was returning to Speech and Drama after years of not doing anything and Mary was fantastic. She far exceeded my expectations of support and expertise adapting the course work to me individually and working to my changing availability. She’s a fantastic teacher who guided me through every step of the process, she has fantastic insight and really goes that extra mile for her students. Nothing is too much.
I should add I did everything remotely. It’s honestly thanks to Mary that I passed with results I am proud of. Looking forward to the next chapter of passing on this life skills to the next generation, Could not recommend working with Mary more!!

I enrolled in the Mary Whelan Fox School of Elocution, Speech, and Drama to pursue my Associate of Teaching diploma. Throughout my journey, Mary provided invaluable personal and professional guidance, ensuring I was fully prepared for both practical and written exams.
Under her mentorship, my confidence as both a performer and a teacher flourished. Mary not only imparted knowledge but also encouraged me to explore and refine my own teaching approach. Beyond being an exceptional teacher, she became a mentor and friend. I am deeply grateful for her support and wholeheartedly recommend her.
Adrienne Lee (Play Act Drama) Licentiate Diploma 5 Star Review
Mary Whelan Fox is expert in her field, excellent to work with and makes everything so accessible. She will literally meet you where you are at on your pedagogical journey. I had a toddler and baby when I was studying with Mary. Her approach is gentle, kind, adaptable, flexible, and she created a safe space where as a group we had so much fun along the way.
I loved my time studying under Mary expert eye and I could not recommend her highly enough to anyway. She continues to be at the end of the phone with business advice, support and chats. Mary has a knack of pushing you and getting the most out of you, she believes in you and makes sure you reach your full potential. I wouldn’t have got through my Licentiate Diploma without her constant reassurance. I’m so glad our paths crossed.

Michael has attended Elocution, Speech and Drama classes for the last 3 years. He’s learned how to greet people, how to communicate strongly to an audience and make appropriate eye contact, and how to prepare and deliver a speech confidently. His confidence and development has grown considerably. He is now looking forward to completing his CBA’s in 2nd Year as he feels he is so well prepared. For helping his confidence, self esteem, and presentation skills, I am forever grateful to Mary.

Ever since I was a little girl I had the same dream every night. I really wanted to become an actor but I knew it would not be easy. Then 2 years ago I discovered I can’t do it on my own so I started private classes with Mary online via zoom. I’m learning loads of important things about acting, how to prepare for auditions, college requirements and the process. I’ve just been accepted to my first choice college. Thank you Mary🎭

My daughter Lily started Speech and Drama aged 7 and she has never looked back, the quality of teaching she has experienced is incredible. Her favourite part of the weekly classes are the games and improvisation, but give her any opportunity to perform and she’s in her element. I’ve watched my little girl grow in confidence and ability. Mary and the team are so welcoming and inclusive, giving all the students a chance to shine and offer them the chance to showcase their talents each year by recording Halloween recitals and Turning on The Christmas Lights in Athlone. Mary’s school is family oriented, she is very approachable, always takes phone calls and replies to emails. There is a lot of fun and laughter, something Mary instills in the group, it’s the highlight of Lily’s week. I really feel Mary takes a personal interest in each student.

Emma started speech and drama with Mary in 2nd class and has completed her grade and public speaking exams successfully each year. She loves the lessons! We have seen her grow in confidence to speak publically and very ably with people of all ages. And there is nothing better than being complimented on your child’s good manners! I can wholeheartedly recommend Mary and her teachers to any parent, for any child. These classes are very much focused on child development and self improvement. I love that they include elocution, manners and deportment as part of their effective communication programme. Looking forward to September already.
